Welcome to Topolino Brighton & Hove

97 Church Rd, Brighton and Hove, Hove BN3 2BA, United Kingdom

General Info

Tucked along Church Road in Hove, Topolino Brighton & Hove feels like one of those Italian spots you stumble upon once and keep coming back to. The location is easy to find, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance between relaxed and lively-especially if you grab one of the outdoor seating tables on a sunny afternoon.

From the moment I settled in, the service felt genuinely welcoming. Little touches like free water refills made the whole experience more comfortable, and the staff were attentive without hovering. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in for a casual lunch or linger into the evening, especially since they offer late-night food for those longer dinners.

The menu leans classic Italian, but it’s the execution that really stands out. The Seafood Pizza is a must-try-light, crisp base topped with fresh, flavorful seafood that doesn’t feel heavy. On the other hand, the Pepperoni Pizza delivers that comforting, familiar taste, with just the right balance of spice and melted cheese. If you’re into starters, the Capesante (scallops) are delicate and well-prepared, offering a nice contrast to the heartier mains.

Speaking of mains, the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara is rich without being overwhelming. The sauce clings perfectly to the pasta, and every bite feels indulgent but balanced. For something more substantial, the Filetto Alla Griglia is a solid choice-grilled just right, tender, and full of flavor. It’s clear the kitchen focuses on getting the basics right, which really elevates the whole dining experience.

The layout of the restaurant is also thoughtfully done. Whether you’re sitting inside or outside, there’s a sense of ease and comfort. Practical features like a gender-neutral restroom add to the inclusive and modern feel of the space, which is always a plus.

What really stands out, though, is how consistent everything feels-from the food to the service to the overall vibe. It’s the kind of place that earns positive reviews not just for one standout dish, but for delivering a reliable, enjoyable experience across the board. Whether you’re exploring new locations in Brighton and Hove or just looking for a dependable Italian restaurant with a strong menu, this spot fits naturally into your rotation.

“ Absolutely delicious pasta, so flavourful, the lasagne especially was divine. Great homemade tiramisu also. Service was attentive, friendly and they really knew the food and wine. ”

“ Arrived early and was welcomed with a warm smile – really friendly service from the start. Proper Italian comfort food, freshly cooked and full of flavour. We had the gnocchi, lasagna, and bolognese – all absolutely delicious. Nice bit of banter with the staff too. A great little find on Church Road. ”

“ Love evening meal with my family. Quality food and excellent service. Price didn't break the bank either. Loved it. ”

- Nathan Collins -

“ The staff there are lovely and amazing! All the dishes are so good and yummy. And I think that Tiramisu is a must as the dessert. Highly recommend this place and definitely will come back again. ”

“ Topolino is a true gem in Hove! The food was incredibly authentic – every seafood dish cooked to perfection, and the T-bone steak was just right: tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The mushroom risotto was an absolute standout – easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff’s warm smiles and exceptional hospitality made me feel like I’d been transported straight to Italy. Service was 100/10 – I can’t wait to return! ”

“ Amazing as always!! We had the Rigatoni alla Topolino - the steak was so tender and the sauce was rich and delicious! We also shared the Capricciosa pizza which was generous with the toppings and cooked to perfection! We love sharing a pasta so we can dip the pizza crusts into the sauce! I’ve never had a bad meal here and the service is always friendly and happy to give recommendations. We came at around 6pm so it was pretty quiet but that’s how we like it. As we were leaving the tables were filling up but it’s always a lovely atmosphere. Thank you and see you next time! ”

“ Lovely food and great atmosphere. The staff are kind and helpful. We were slightly cold and therefore uncomfortable whilst dining but we would still book again and ware warmer clothing. ”

“ Tonight was my 5th visit to this Hove delight! If you are looking for fabulous food, superb service and ambient atmosphere then look no further. This place is hands down THE best Italian in Brighton and Hove. The menu is not extensive, you are not presented with pages and pages of choice, but what you do get is without a shadow of doubt excellent quality food at a beyond reasonable price. And if you manage to make it to desert, my oh my, the homemade selection is damn awesome! Honestly, don’t bother considering anywhere else - you will NOT be disappointed! ”
